In the Admiral spotlight – Georgie Cameron

This month Managing Director Georgie Cameron steps into the Admiral spotlight to share her love of travelling and her key tool for a successful PR campaign.

What do you do to relax?
I like to walk and ride in the Cheviots and travel to far flung places off the beaten track.

What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?
Get rid of negative people, they pull down businesses.

What is your biggest challenge to date?
Educating three children through boarding school!

Who are your heroes, both in and out of business?
Out of business, Admiral Nelson and Admiral Collingwood, both family relatives of my husband and I. In business, I’d have to say Laura Wade-Gery, the previous chief executive of Tesco Online, now with Marks & Spencer.

What made you want to work in the PR industry?
Nothing, I fell into it.

What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
There’s been a few. Seeing individual team members progress and grow in ability and winning national awards for our campaigns.

What is your key tool in any PR campaign?
A strategic brain and a good understanding of business plus messaging, messaging, messaging!

What is the best thing about social media?
It gives you a direct line to your customers.

What is your favourite aspect of your job?
The variety.
