Admiral’s chairman Stephen Waddington is celebrating the recent recognition of his work in social media at the UK Social Media Communication Awards with a new job role at one of the world’s largest communications agencies, Ketchum.
He received the award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Social Media’ following his success on the CIPR Social Media Panel and his co-authored book, Brand Anarchy: Managing Corporate Reputation. Waddington was also the lead editor of Share This, CIPR’s best-selling social media how-to handbook.
Georgie Cameron, managing director at Admiral PR said: “We’re not at all surprised Stephen has been recognised for his contribution to social media.
“His broad knowledge on the topic is what inspired Admiral to get to grips with the capabilities of social media. The success of Brand Anarchy really demonstrates how deep that knowledge goes.
“We wish him the best of luck at Ketchum where he moves to following his 20 year experience in journalism, PR and social media and we’re all looking forward to hearing about his new role when he starts next month.”
Waddington joins the European management team at Ketchum as digital and social media director. Based for the most part in the London office, he will advise clients and drive the digital offering to those served by Ketchum teams in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Qatar, Russia, Spain, United Arab Emirates and the UK, as well as those assisted globally by the agency from North America, Asia and Latin America.
