Travelling by bus has just got even easier as Go North East launches The Key Mobile, an app that’s designed to revolutionise bus travel.
The Key Mobile will make it easier and more convenient to travel with Go North East, finding the nearest bus stops using GPS, the next Go North East bus, providing live service updates on favourite routes and enabling customers to buy their bus tickets all from the app.
The app is a complete package, focused on meeting customer’s top priorities including – planning travel and being able to access real time, instant travel information on the go for both work and play.
Commenting on the launch of The Key Mobile, Martin Harris, commercial director at Go North East, said;
“Go North East aims to deliver the best customer service and this app allows people to get their favourite routes at the touch of a button. It’s a great way to interact with our customers and we have been getting some really good feedback since it launched so we are sure it will be a success.
“Mobile phones and the internet play a huge part in our lives enabling passengers to get information on the move about services. Introducing the app is the next logical step to take that we hope will provide Go North East passengers with an even better customer services experience.”
The app’s features also include a live news feed to note traffic reports and any delays to bus routes, making journey planning easier. It will report when services are running well and when delays are occurring to ensure no more hanging around, waiting and wondering where the bus is.
Soon, the app will also make it possible to buy a ticket on a mobile. This replaces the traditional paper ticket, making bus ticketing way easier and trouble free. Passengers wishing to travel will no longer need to wait to buy a traditional paper ticket, search for change, or break a note. They can simply buy the ticket on the app, show the driver and hop on!
The Key Mobile will soon host interactive surveys, games and discount vouchers from a wide range of retailers across the region.
The Key Mobile app is available for free download in the app store now for Android and iPhone. A webapp is also available for other users at www.thekeymobile.com.
